Handloom weaving sits at the core of how we think about fabric, not as something engineered for perfection, but as something shaped slowly, by hand, with all the nuance that comes with it. We work closely with legacy preserving craftspeople across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for much of our cottons and linens, where the rhythm of the loom is still guided by hand and memory. Our silks are often woven in the northeastern regions of India, while many of our lighter shirting fabrics come out of West Bengal, each place bringing its own subtle shift in texture and feel. But more than geography, what defines these fabrics is their irregularity, the slight slubs, the uneven tensions, the moments where the hand reveals itself in the cloth. There’s an honesty to that, a kind of imperfect intention that resists uniformity and instead leans into variation. It’s in those inconsistencies that the fabric feels most alive, carrying the presence of the person who made it rather than hiding behind the idea of flawlessness.
