GODHADI CROPPED JACKET

This is a Hand Quilted Technique from Kutch in Gujarat. We work specifically with a women owned and led community from the Rabari community who specialize in this specific craft. There’s a quiet poetry to Godhadi quilting. For generations across western India, particularly in rural Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, women have stitched together worn saris, dhotis, and household cloth into layered quilts that carry the memory of daily life. Nothing is wasted; faded florals sit beside checks, a sleeve becomes a patch, a border reappears years later in another form. The stitching is simple but rhythmic, often done by hand in long running lines that hold the layers together like a quiet meditation. Over time, a godhadi becomes more than a blanket: it’s a living archive of a home, softened by use and carrying the warmth of the hands that made it.
