Hand block printing has long been part of India’s textile language, a slow and deliberate process where pattern is built layer by layer through the hand. We often work with traditions like Ajrakh printing from Kutch and Bagru printing in Rajasthan, each rooted in generations of practice and material knowledge. Using hand carved wooden blocks and natural dyes, often derived from plants and minerals, the fabric is printed in repeated passes, creating depth through slight misalignments and tonal variation. It’s a process that resists precision, where no two prints are ever identical, and that sense of irregularity becomes the point. The beauty lies in the human touch, in the way the pattern breathes and shifts, carrying with it the time, care, and lived history of the hands that made it.
